new video: Maycomb – ‘Dynamiter’

West Midlands pop-punk band, Maycomb, have recently released the video for their new single ‘Dynamiter’ which is taken from their brilliant debut album ‘I Opened My Heart To Caustic Things’ which was released at the end of last year.

You watch the video for the new single below:

This song is an obvious single choice with fast drums, pop punk guitar hooks a plenty and a chorus to sing a long to. It’s uptempo with a beat driven rhythm running throughout and it’s bundles of melody and energy poured in make you want to move. It’s a song that will grab the attention of many becoming somewhat of an earworm and it will clearly go down a storm in their live sets.

I reviewed the band’s debut on this blog back in December and this is what I had to say about it: “For a first album, it’s a band that has come straight out with something to say and a point to prove to people in terms of songwriting and lyrics. A debut which sounds more mature, especially lyrically, than the average first album from the majority of bands out there.”

The quartet had this to say about their new video: “Loosely based on “The Fountainhead” by Ayn Rand, ‘Dynamiter’ is about keeping your integrity and staying true to yourself, especially when presented with the option of taking the easy way out and caving in to other people’s expectations. The video is a continuation of these themes, along with the idea of destroying something fundamentally flawed in order to start anew; the books that are discovered and eventually burned representing miss-steps, failures, and the naivety of past decisions”

To purchase a copy of the album which features ‘Dynamite’ you can do that via iTunes or their BigCartel store.
