new music: El Libero

Today, I bring you some brand new music from London based indie band El Libero. The four piece are soon to release their forthcoming EP ‘Above’ on June 15th and to precede it they have recently released the title track from the EP which you can check out below:

The track is a calm effort from the off with short acoustic guitar strums and a wonderful vocal layered with plenty of distinct tones and harmonies. The track delicately flows from verse to chorus and back again so effortlessly and it is clear to see the inspiration they have taken from quiet, ballad style rock meets. It is a really wonderful song and completely beautiful in it’s execution from those acoustic guitar lines to steady, quiet drums rhythms and rich meets fragile vocals that litter the track.

The first single to be taken from the EP was entitled ‘Butterfly’ and was met with critical acclaim from the likes of Artrocker, Alt Sounds, RTE 2FM and Clash Magazine who has this to say; “Storming Indie Rock newcomers.” This latest track was written by the band’s songwriter and guitarist Eoghan Gallagher and has been described as a pining love song declaring love through tension and impending seperation.

Inspired by the likes of Jeff Buckley, Leonard Cohen and The Beatles, the band draw on classic songwriters to provide a truly great, authentic and wonderful sound to their own tracks. It has seen the band attract plenty of attention drawing in plenty of fans to their sound along with all that critical acclaim. It should be an exciting few months for the band from now and hopefully their will be some tour dates announced soon to back that up and for fans to get the chance to catch them.

You can preorder their soon to be released EP ‘Above’ on iTunes now.
